KU Electronic Media Brings Home an Emmy

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The Kutztown University Electronic Media Department was awarded a Mid Atlantic regional Emmy Saturday evening for its documentary on Eastern State Penitentiary.  Those honored with the award were Ryan Hedrick '13 (Wallingford, Pa.), Producer/Videographer; Andrew Donahue '14 (Harrisburg, Pa.), Videographer; Shawn Petcaugh '13 (Clarks Summit, Pa.), Editor; and Electronic Media Deparment chair Helen Bieber and assistant professor Andrew Skitko, advisors.

KU had garnered four nominations from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) last month. KU swept the Arts, Entertainment and Public Affairs category of College and University Productions.

The NATAS is a professional service organization dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of television and the promotion of creative leadership for artistic, educational and technical achievements within the television industry. It was founded in 1957.

The Mid Atlantic is one of 19 regions of the NATAS and covers parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Ohio.
