Jonathan Mooney to discuss dyslexia, ADHD
Sept. 26, 2012
KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Kutztown University welcomes inspirational speaker Jonathan Mooney, on Oct. 9 in the McFarland Student Union building room 183, 11 a.m. to noon. Mooney will discuss how he didn't let his dyslexia and attention deficit hyperactivity get in the way of his success. Instead of letting his disorders classify him as "not normal," he now seeks-out families of boys and girls who aren't problematic, but unique.
Spending his childhood trying to defy odds, Mooney traveled across the United States helping children who are dealing with similar difficulties. Graduating from Brown University with honors, Mooney traveled state to state on a broken down short bus, determined to help kids open up about their struggles and not let their disorders define who they are.
Every child that he speaks to helps Mooney realize that no matter how many places he visits across country, no one ever really visits the state of being "normal".
