Kutztown University celebrated this weekend's start of National Hispanic Heritage Month earlier this week with a Latino Caucus Reception.  Full coverage of the event is below.

President Cevallos spoke with the Reading Eagle and WFMZ-TV about KU and our recent efforts to provide Latino students with a sense of unity and welcoming into the Kutztown experience.

"We want Latinos to know that we are here to make sure they succeed academically," said Cevallos, a native of Ecuador.

"Queremos que esta población se eduque, y tenga la oportunidad de venir a la universidad, que tenga la oportunidad de tener un futuro mejor y estos estudiantes que están con nosotros ahora son un ejemplo de ese futuro," dijo Cevallos."

"We are really happy that our Latino population is growing in terms of students, faculty and staff and we think it's a great opportunity to say welcome and that's what we're trying to do today," said Cevallos.
