Due to the severe weather in the area, Kutztown University will close at noon today, Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014.

Essential personnel should report as directed.

In the News: KU Alum Danielle Kovach Wins NEA Award

Kutztown, PA - Kutztown alumnus Danielle Kovach has received the top National Education Association award, the Award for Excellence. Along with the honor, Kovach was awarded $25,000 at the Gala event in Washington in February. The NEA award is the culmination of a list of honors she achieved including Sussex County Teacher of the Year and New Jersey State Teacher of the Year.

"Kovach, a 36-year-old Succasunna resident and 1993 Roxbury High School graduate, has previously been named Hopatcong's Teacher of the Year, Sussex County Teacher of the Year and New Jersey State Teacher of the Year. She began her teaching career in Hopatcong in 1997 after graduating from Kutztown University with a degree in elementary education."
