Science Olympiad Announces Competition Results

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Official results of the regional Science Olympiad event held at Kutztown University on March 20 have been released. The region covers Berks, Bucks, Lehigh and Northampton Counties. Twenty-eight high schools (Division C) and ten middle schools (Division B) entered teams to compete in 23 different events.

The top four division B teams go on to states and the top six division c teams are also eligible for states. The seventh place team will attend the state competition should one of the top six not be able to attend. The state competition will be held at Juniata College on May 2. The national tournament is held May 16-17 in Orlando, Fla.
The Pennsylvania Science Olympiad has been in existence since 1985. Originally involving just 30 teams competing in one location, it has grown to include more than 300 teams competing in six regional locations across the state.
Forty-two Pennsylvania Division C teams have ranked in the top 15 nationally since beginning national competition in 1985, and 25 Pennsylvania Division B teams have ranked in the top 15 nationally.
