Kutztown University to Offer Free Reading Assessment for Children
March 11, 2014
KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Kutztown University's Graduate Reading Specialist Program is offering a free reading assessment clinic for children in grades one through ten, from 9 a.m. to noon, on Saturday, April 12 in the Beekey Education Building. This is an incredible opportunity for children who appear to have difficulty reading or take extra time to complete reading-related tasks.
All testing is free and administered by certified teachers who are completing their Master of Education in Reading degree. They have taken courses in reading assessment and are supervised by faculty members in the Graduate Reading program.
Children who participate will receive three hours of free testing that will assess their reading skills and strategies, and parents will be provided with a complete case report prepared by specialists trained in reading diagnosis. This report will contain specific recommendations for the further development of the child´s reading skills.
To enroll your child for the diagnostic testing, please e-mail Dr. Sandra Chambers at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the graduate assistant at (610) 683-4627 and leave a message. As soon as the referral form is returned, your child will be scheduled and you will be notified of the date. Spots will fill up fast, so please register as soon as possible.
