Kutztown University Launches New MyKU Mobile Site
March 10, 2014
KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Kutztown University's Department of Information Technology launched MyKU Mobile, which can be accessed at http://mykumobile.kutztown.edu, on Feb. 26.
MyKU is the student information system used by Kutztown University students to register for classes, view their class schedule and grades, make payments to the university, check on financial aid status and more.
MyKU mobile, which is optimized for mobile devices, provides a quick way for students to view grades, financial aid information, announcements and schedules. The new site also integrates with social networking sites, enabling students to post their schedules on Twitter and Facebook, and is an easy way for students to access their information without using a computer.
More than 10 percent of KU students visited the site the day it was launched.
A team of seven information technology (IT) professionals worked to develop the site during fall 2013, and it was piloted by MBA students and members of the student government board. Student feedback and suggestions were incorporated into the design by the IT team.
Holly Fox, director of enterprise software development at KU, was invited to speak about developing MyKU Mobile at this year's Alliance conference. Alliance represents the largest meeting of higher education public sector and federal users of Oracle Applications in the world.
