KU Women's Center to Screen Two Films

March 11, 2014

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The Kutztown University Women's Center has planned to screen two films during the spring 2014 semester. "Girl Rising" (Richard Robbins, 2013) will be screened on Wednesday, March 26 at 2 p.m. in the Academic Forum room 201.  "Not My Life" (Robert Billheimer, Richard Young, 2011) will be screened on Tuesday, April 8 at 3 p.m. in the Academic Forum room 101. Both films retain and display themes that are meant to incite emotion and thought from the audience on important social issues, geopolitical problems and economic trends from the perspective of women.

Robbins' "Girl Rising" is a feature which promotes female education across the globe, while Billheimer and Young's "Not My Life," narrated by Glenn Close, is a documentary on human trafficking that will surely spark emotional responses to the film's unapologetic and truthful approach to this underground, multi-billion dollar industry.
