Vegetarian Education Group hosts George Eisman

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Kutztown welcomes George Eisman (M.A., M.S., RD), one of the nation's leading experts on vegetarian nutrition, at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, in Academic Forum room 101. This event is sponsored by the Kutztown University Vegetarian Education Group.
Eisman, who has written three books, Don't Let Your Diet Add to Your Cancer Risk, A Basic Course in Vegetarian and Vegan Nutrition and The Most Noble Diet, will discuss vegetarianism, contemporary issues related to nutrition and foods that comprise a healthy diet.
Eisman, who has been a registered dietitian for almost 35 years, is currently the Director of Nutrition at the Coalition for Cancer Prevention through Plant-Based Eating. He has worked at Miami Children's Hospital and Wesley Woods Nursing Home in Atlanta, before serving as a Public Health Nutritionist for the State Health Departments of Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. Additionally, he is the co-founder and first chair-elect of the Vegetarian Nutrition Practice Group of the American Diabetic Association.
Eisman, who received his Master of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and a Master of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition from Florida International University, has taught at the university level at Florida State University, Broward Community College, and Miami-Dade Community College. Today, he lectures frequently at Cornell University.
