KU, RACC sign dual admission agreement
Updated: March 26, 2012
KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Kutztown University and Reading Area County Community College (RACC) signed an articulation agreement on March 26. The agreement creates a dual admission and core-to-core program between the two schools.
Watch video of the agreement signing above. The video includes comments from KU president Dr. F. Javier Cevallos, RACC president Dr. Anna Weitz, PASSHE Board of Governors' chair Guido Pichini, and U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent.
Under the agreement, RACC students who submit a dual admissions intent form to enter KU, will be guaranteed admissions into a KU bachelor's degree program and will enter KU as juniors (third-year students.)
The agreement supports Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett's effort to ensure that community college students receive the education and training they need for transfer to a four-year college or university.
KU welcomed 99 transfers from RACC in 2010; 55 in 2011. There are currently 305 RACC transfers enrolled at Kutztown.
Kutztown University has a similar agreement with Montgomery County Community College.
