KU to host K-12 Online Learning Summit

KUTZTOWN, PA - Kutztown University hosts the inaugural Pennsylvania K-12 Online Learning Summit on June 22, in the KU Academic Forum, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The summit will address the trend towards cyber schools, bringing the classroom online, what is learned from teaching online, and teaching teachers to teach online.
The summit will include keynote speakers who are experts in the field of cyber-learning, including: Dr. Christopher Harrington, director of Bridges Virtual Education School; Dr. Lisa Andrejko, superintendent of the Quakertown Community School District; and Dr. Allison Powell, vice president of the International Association for K-12 Online Learning.
Speakers will present facts about the growth of cyber schools and plans on implementing a successful cyber-learning program, and provide strategies for schools to keep the cyber-learning programs vibrant and growing. The summit will also offer information on why cyber-learning is important to a school district, and will address any fears on its effect on public schools.
The public is invited to attend. Cost of registration is $85 payable at the door or in advance. Registration is open.
