KUTZTOWN, Pa.- Kutztown University's accounting professors, Thomas Grant and Robert Derstine, have written a June 12, 2012 article in the Reading Eagle Business Weekly discussing their thoughts on case-based learning that offers ultimately better training for CPAs and represents a "win-win-win" situation for all involved.
"For the university, the case-based approach provides a means to demonstrate a series of competencies that are highly valued, such as communication skills, critical thinking, decision analysis and quantitative mastery of the subject...The students are judged to be capable by their new employers, the employers will continue to hire, or increase their future hiring of the university's graduates, and the university can verify its learning objectives."
