Giorno and Iannelli Join Kutztown University Council of Trustees

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Dennis A. Giorno and T. Anthony (Tony) Iannelli have been appointed to the Kutztown University Council of Trustees by Governor Tom Corbett and confirmed by the Pennsylvania Senate. Both will serve six-year terms. Giorno began his term April 15 and Iannelli began June 25.
Giorno is employed by Malady and Wooten LLP, Harrisburg, focusing on governmental and public affairs.
Prior to joining Malady & Wooten, Giorno was the executive director of the REACH Alliance, Pennsylvania's leading school choice advocacy organization. During his tenure, REACH secured passage of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program, which has been hailed as a national model for providing parents with choices in their children's education and funding innovative programs in public schools.
Dennis began his career in public policy on the staff of Governor Ridge's reinventing government IMPACCT Commission. He then went on to serve on the staff of State Representative Colleen A. Sheehan and in the public affairs office of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Mr. Giorno currently is vice chairman of the Bridge Educational Foundation and Treasurer of the REACH Alliance. He earned a bachelor's degree in public administration from KU in 1994 and currently resides in the Harrisburg area.
Iannelli has served as president of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce since 1997. Under his leadership the chamber has grown to nearly 5,000 members and sits as the 9th largest chamber in the United States.
Iannelli currently serves on the board of directors of the American Chambers of Commerce Executives. Locally he serves as chairman of the board of the Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority. He has been recognized with the Latino Leadership Alliance Distinguished Service Award, The William Allen Distinguished Alumni Award, the Kids Peace Community Leader Award, the Muhlenberg College Entrepreneur Award and the Lehigh Valley Human Relations Award. He also has received the Ernst & Young Regional Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Iannelli serves as host of Business Matters, the region's premier local business TV show, which is telecast by WFMZ-TV and carried on 46 cable companies in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
