Chinese New Year at Rohrbach Library

KUTZTOWN, PA - Kutztown University's Rohrbach Library hosts a Chinese New Year Celebration for students, faculty and staff on Tuesday, February 12 from 11 am to 1pm in the Rohrbach Library.

Students will have the chance to experience Chinese culture through a variety of hands-on activities. The program will consist of:

  • Chinese Paper-Cut and Water Color Painting with Professor Haidong Liu (Modern Language Studies)
  • Tai Chi with Professor CJ Rhoads (Business Administration) 
  • Woodblock Printing with Professor Kevin McCloskey (Communication and Design) 
  • An explanation of Chinese Zodiac and personality charts by members of the Chinese Students and Scholars Association at Kutztown University
  • Chinese Chopstick Games refereed by Professors Ju Zhou and Yun Lu  (Mathematics)
  • A video of Chinese New Year activities as celebrated in China
  • A sampling of Chinese food and tea

This event is a collaborative program presented by the Rohrbach Library, Modern Language Studies, International Admissions, Business Administration, Fine Arts, Mathematics, Communication and Design, History and Sociology/Anthropology. It is funded in part by a grant from the Pennsylvania State Employee Credit Union.
