KU to present artist Onishi Yaskuaki's work, The Reverse of Volume

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - "The Reverse of Volume," a large-scale art installation created by world-renown artist Onishi Yasuaki, opens Thursday, Jan. 26 in the Marlin and Regina Miller Gallery in the Sharadin Art Building at Kutztown University. The artist's reception is 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Yasuaki will also present an artist talk on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 6:30 p.m. in Sharadin Room 120.

Yasuaki creates installation art - huge pieces that are custom-made for whatever space the artist is given; sculptures, photography and drawings. His work is displayed in countries all over the world. Yasuaki won nine grants for his work including the excellent prize in 2004 in the Net Exhibition Digital Photo Contest, the Star Prize in the 21st century Asia Design Competition, and The Pollock-Krasner Foundation. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday noon - 4 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 p.m.
