Activist Ewauare Osayande to Visit KU

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Professor, poet, scholar, author and activist Ewuare Osayande will present "Being Black in the 21st Century" at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 19 in Academic Forum room 102. The event is hosted by Dr. Ellesia Blaque of Kutztown's Department of English.
Audience members will have the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session, immediately followed by an open mike session. Students, faculty, staff and community members can join Osayande for a meet and greet at 6 p.m. in the Academic Forum food court, followed by a poetry slam at 7 p.m.
Osayande, of Camden, N.J., is an adjunct professor at Rutgers University, the founder of Talking Drum Communications and director of People Organized Working to Eradicate Racism (POWER). His latest book of poems is entitled "Whose America?"
