KU hires new Assistant Director of University Relations

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Following a national search, Kutztown University announces the appointment of David Johnson as its new assistant director of university relations.
At KU, Johnson will cultivate and maintain contact with members of the local and regional media, coordinate coverage of campus events, and stand as spokesperson in the university relations department for general media inquiries. He will also serve as the editor of the Tower magazine and the Daily Brief. Among other important duties, Johnson will assist in crisis communication and serve on the on-call communications response team.
Previous to his employment at KU, Johnson was manager of marketing communications at Albright College in Reading, Pa. While there, he oversaw the College's marketing and assisted with media and public relations. He was responsible for the college's various social media and contributed to alumni magazines and department newsletters. Johnson also taught classes in Principles of Economics and Marketing Management as an adjunct lecturer.
Johnson is excited to begin his work at KU.

Johnson attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he received a bachelor's degree in economics in May 1993. He then earned a master's degree in management in business administration from the Pennsylvania State University. Johnson currently lives in Shillington, Pa., with his wife Amy.
