KU to Commemorate Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King's March on Washington

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Kutztown University will join the national "Let Freedom Ring" commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King's march on Washington and his iconic "I Have a Dream" speech. KU's memorial bell will be rung at 3 p.m. on August 28 in Memorial Grove on the east side of Old Main. A reading of King's speech will immediately follow. The event is free and open to the public.
The King Center and the 50th Anniversary Coalition have called on all Americans to pause and commemorate the day with events that bring people together across cultural and political lines to celebrate the common humanity in creative and uplifting ways in the spirit of the dream. Bells across the world will be rung at 3 p.m. EST to commemorate the exact time King ended his speech.
