Two Music Faculty to Offer Joint Recital

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Dr. Susanna Loewy, flute, and Dr. Maria Asteriadou, piano, will perform a joint recital Sunday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Georgian Room of Old Main. The concert is free and open to the public.
The program includes Robert Schumann's Romances, Darius Milhaud's Sonatine, Ástor Piazzolla's Histoire de Tango, CPE Bach's Hamburger Sonata and Duo by Aaron Copland.
Loewy is assistant professor of flute at KU and a teaching artist for the Philadelphia Orchestra. She is the principal flutist and project manager for Inscape, a chamber music group based in the Washington, D.C. Loewy has played with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Pennsylvania Ballet, the Louisiana Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, Peter Nero and the Philly Pops, among other groups in the Philadelphia area and across the country.
Asteriadou is an associate professor of piano at KU and has performed around the world, appearing in recitals and as soloist with orchestras playing in major concert halls in the United States, South America, Canada and Europe. She has performed with the Moscow Radio Symphony, Academy of Saint Martin in the Fields, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the National Symphony of Costa Rica, the Stuttgart Kamerata, Luxembourg Philharmonia, the Bucharest Chamber Orchestra, Iasi Philharmonic Romania, the Adrian (Michigan) Symphony Orchestra, the Canadian Chamber Academy, Athens State Orchestra and the Thessaloniki State and City orchestras.
