KU hosts Undergraduate Anthropology Research Conference

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Kutztown University will host the 27th annual PASSHE Undergraduate Anthropology Research Conference on Saturday, April 27 in the Boehm Science Center and Sunday, April 28 in the Academic Forum. The conference, which runs from 12:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Sunday, will feature five poster presentations and 21 paper presentations.
An award and $100 cash prize will be presented to the outstanding undergraduate paper submission during a banquet on Saturday night in the McFarland Student Union.
Students from Bloomsburg University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Kutztown University and West Chester University will participate in the conference.
Research topics include:
- Pennsylvania German Cuisine
- Industrial Archeology
- Contemporary health care issues
The event, which rotates yearly among PASSHE's universities, is organized this year by Kutztown University's Department of Anthropology. Students and faculty from PASSHE's universities will join faculty and students from KU for two days of presentations and social events. Student presentations include papers and posters on field or literature based research in different subfields of anthropology.
