Big Art Day (BAD) April 11

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Kutztown University's Fine Arts Department will host 'Big Art Day' on Thursday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. in the Sharadin Arts Building, room 120. During the event, current students and alumni will have the opportunity to network and share their accomplishments and plans for the future. Big Art Day is free and open to the public.
The presenters this year are alumni Micah Danges '01, a photographer who has taught at the University of California, Berkeley, and now works at the University of Pennsylvania; Shannon (Slattery) Fugate '04, the executive director of The Baum School of Art in Allentown, Pa.; and Andrew Brehm '06, a sculptor and performance artist who has worked as a fabricator for the film industry and exhibited his furniture at craft and fine art galleries in the Philadelphia area.
The event will conclude with the announcement of scholarships and awards bestowed on current KU art students, including the Karen Anderson Fine Arts Graduation Award, the Chambliss medal winners, the Fine Arts Department Art History Award and the Sharadin Award. Students who are receiving Corpora, Russo, and Stimmel scholarships, have obtained internships and were accepted to artist residency programs will also be recognized at the event.
