Kutztown University will induct 70 into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society on Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. in Alumni Auditorium in the McFarland Student Union.
Kutztown University graduate student Amanda Funk, of Reading, Pa., is the winner of the Scholars for the Dream travel award, which provides funding toward presenting at this year's National Council of Teachers for English (NCTE) Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) and a one-year membership to NCTE.
Nicholas Evans, junior computer science/software development major at Kutztown University, was awarded a $1500 Carole and Ray Neag Undergraduate Research Grant to develop a server architecture for large format local multiplayer gaming.
More than 1,600 students have been named to the Fall 2013 Dean's List at Kutztown University. To be eligible for Dean's List, an undergraduate student must be registered for at least 12 credits and have a minimum grade point average of 3.60.
Sociology Majors and Minors Inducted Into Alpha Kappa Delta

Congratulations to KU student Rebecca Vanhorn for being awarded a CCIS study abroad scholarship! She was one of three applicants chosen from a large competitive applicant pool of students from across the U.S. Rebecca is currently studying abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France, for the spring 2014 semester.

Congratulations to the undergraduate sociology majors and minors who were inducted into Alpha Kappa Delta, Alpha Epsilon Chapter (International Sociology Honor Society) on Tuesday March 4.
Thirty members of the Electronic Media Department attended the National Broadcasting Society Convention in Hollywood this past weekend. KU came home with two awards. They were the winners of the Model Chapter of the Year Award for excellence in service and the high level of achievement of the chapter. They were also awarded the Grand Prize in the Video Promo Category for their promotion of the 2013 football team.

Ryan Kohn, a junior biology major at Kutztown University, was awarded a $1,500 Carole and Ray Neag Undergraduate Research Grant to obtain scientific equipment that will allow him to research macrophages and protein inhibition. Kohn specializes in molecular, micro and cell biology.
Shaniqua Wells is one of five students chosen to be a recipient of Air Products $1,000 scholarship. Air Products is sponsoring her internship at Friend, Inc. Community Services located in Kutztown.
The Mu Xi Chapter of the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society inducted 28 new members during the course of the ceremony. Congratulations to the new members.
