The Daily Brief

Students are invited to speak with Dr. Cevallos today from 11 a.m. to noon in AF 201.  Dr. Cevallos welcomes your thoughts, concerns and suggestions regarding Kutztown University.

Please encourage your students to attend and participate in the LRC Days events this week in DF 107/109.  Students will receive stamps in a "passport".  The days' events include games like:  the Amazing Language Race, the Reverse Scavenger Hunt, Are you Smarter than a 1st Grader?, Vocabulary Relay Race, Tag-Team Jeopar(t)y, Taboorades, and Language Feud.

As we had interest last year from students who were not studying a second language, we have two events this year that are for students who know no second language:  Tag-Team Jeopar(t)y and the Reverse Scavenger Hunt - these events introduce students to resources for the study of languages, and to basic vocabulary for items around the university. More information is available on our website:

Tune in today from 2 to 3 p.m. for "Kutztown Live," KUR's campus and community issues talk radio program. Host Mike Regensburger sits down with a representative from "The Gallery Above Penn Square" in Reading, a non-profit revolving art exhibition that works with galleries in Philadelphia and New York City to conduct exhibits focusing on local artists and highlighting multiculturalism. Later in the show, it's another edition of our weekly "Kutztown Live" feature called "The People Chronicles." "The People Chronicles" is an exciting Berks County project that emphasizes the stories of local individuals. It is the brainchild of Toni Reece, President of the People Academy, and is hosted by local radio personality Jackie Hoffman. In this week's installment, Jackie sits down with Bernie and Jill Nowotarski. Love, disease, and what really matters in life are the topics. It's about all of us. It's about you. A story of strength, love, courage, and how the community continues to fight for Bernie's cancer. This is one jam-packed "Kutztown Live" you won't want to miss and it all comes your way from 2 to 3 p.m. Tune in!
