Dr, Zuniga 

Professor of Spanish, Dr. Maximiliano Zúñiga, will deliver the fall 2013 Chambliss Faculty Research Awards lecture on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 4:30 p.m. in the MSU Alumni Auditorium (183). The lecture is free and open to the public.  Zúñiga's lecture will give a brief overview of important aspects of the narrative voices that appear in Alfredo Bryce Echenique's short stories and novels between 1967 and 1988, and analyzes aspects of the narrative voice in Echenique's first novel, "Un mundo para Julius" ("A World for Julius").


The Off Campus Advisory Council and Kutztown Community Partnership will host a holiday marketplace of vendors and crafters on Dec. 5 in MSU 218 and 223 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.  Setup begins at 9 a.m.  If you are interested or know someone who may be interested in having a table at the holiday marketplace, please contact and I will send a registration form out to you. Table space is limited and cost is $35 per one 8 foot table. We ask that vendors submit payment and registration by Nov. 29. For any questions, please email Jenni Rach at

The Kutztown University Entrepreneurial Leadership Center (ELC) will host our local "Kutztown University Business Idea Competition" final round of judging Thursday Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. in 100 DF. 


The final round will include 7 Kutztown teams selected from the original 24 teams and these students will be competing for awards and incubator space.   Judges for this final round will include noted successful Kutztown University Alumni along with select business professionals and members of the ELC Advisory Board.

Due to the success of this local competition in drawing 24 teams...please assist the ELC in extending the following invitation to students in your classes. 


Kutztown University students are invited to enter the Statewide PASSHE Business Plan Competition.

Awards for this statewide competition include: 

$10,000 for 1st place

$5,000 for 2nd place

$2,500 for 3rd place


The statewide competition currently includes 55 entries from across the PASSHE system and the DEADLINE for entry is November 30th/2013.

After earning the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament victory on Friday against West Chester, Kutztown women's soccer season ended on the road against a top-10 team in the nation. The Golden Bears fell to the sixth-ranked California (PA) Vulcans, 6-1, in the NCAA Tournament Second Round.  Congratulations to all of our players and coaches on an historic season.



Six new members were inducted into the Kutztown Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday morning at the annual banquet held in Kutztown's on-campus Student Recreation Center.

The 35th annual class included: Sarah Brandon Woodward '07, women's volleyball; Jeremy Culver '99, men's track and field; Shannon J. Daggett '98, women's track and field/field hockey; Kellie Evans '03, softball; Greg Gristick '83, football; and Bilal A. Salaam '05, men's basketball.




Men's Rugby beat West Virginia University on Saturday 83-17 in the American College Rugby Championship semi-final round.  KU will now face Bowling Green in the final four at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, on the KU North Campus rugby pitch.



Women's Rugby is headed to the final four of the American College Rugby Conference Championship after a 15-5 win over Bowdoin this weekend.  KU takes on Winona State on Dec. 7 in Florida.
