The Daily Brief

Left to right:  Marlena Rock, Kelsey Mason, Kurt Friehauf, Margariete Malenda at the Garden of the Gods near Colorado Spring.

Please congratulate Kutztown University undergraduate geology students Margariete Malenda, Marlena Rock, and Kelsey Mason for each successfully presenting their research at the international Geological Society of America meeting in Denver, Co. last week.  All three students performed superbly, defending their scanning electron microscope research amidst a sea of work by PhDs and professional geoscientists.  Very few undergraduate students in North America perform research that gets accepted for presentation at this major scientific conference.  Kutztown University outshone most undergraduate universities last week with three!

TODAY IS VETERAN'S DAY - Be sure to thank Veterans who have protected our country and our freedoms.

To honor the service of our veterans, today the Military Club of KU will conduct two flag ceremonies to begin and end the day as service members do at military installations worldwide.  At 7:45 a.m. we will conduct a flag raising ceremony at the flagpole in front of Schaeffer Auditorium.  At 4:35 p.m., we will lower the flag.  Veterans and current service members are encouraged to render honors during Reveille and To the Color.  All are welcome to join us.
