ANNOUNCEMENTS

Department of Social Work 12th Annual Community Forum, Caring for the Whole Person: Ethical Policy Practice in the Era of Health Care Reform, March 14, 2014, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Co-sponsored with the Office of the President, Forum 2014 raises awareness and explores reforms in health care that integrate mind and body, including innovations in behavioral health delivery. Social work professionals serve as catalysts to build and strengthen alliances that promote effective and ethical healthcare practices across the practice continuum. Presenters will include Ron Manderscheid, Ph.D., Executive Director, National Association of County Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities; Jean Bennett, Ph.D., Regional Administrator, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services, Region III; and Jerome C. Wakefield, DSW, PhD, Professor, New York University, author of numerous publications on mental health and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. We invite faculty, alumni, community leaders, agency executives, policy makers, social workers, and human services professionals. Spring break closure:  Clinical Services will close on Friday, March 14 at 5:30 p.m.   Normal operating hours will resume Sunday, March 23.  While closed, medical emergencies should be directed to Public Safety at 610-683-4001.
