Today at 3 p.m. KU will participate in the "Let Freedom Ring" celebration in honor of the 50th anniversary of
Dr. Martin Luther King's epic "I Have a Dream Speech." At 3 p.m. the bell in Memorial Grove on the east side
of Old Main will be rung along with bells all across the nation to commemorate the moment King finished his
speech. A reading of the speech by students and faculty will follow.

Relocation of Services - The offices of the Associate Vice Provost and Dean of Students (Bob Watrous), Associate Dean of Students (Mike Demetor) and the Student Services Coordinator (Sue Mangold) as well as support staff Gina Andersen, Faith Riedel, and GA Catherine Rue have relocated their service center from the McFarland Student Union to Suite 119 Stratton Administration Center (the former Advisement Center). All related telephone contact numbers remain as published in university directories. All members of the University community are welcome to come by the new area and say hello.

The first Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) Conference for Undergraduate Research in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) will be held at Slippery Rock University on Nov. 15 and 16, 2013. STEM Students from Kutztown University are encouraged to submit papers regarding their research by Sept. 15, 2013. For work in progress, poster submissions are encouraged.
The keynote speaker for the conference is Dr. Thomas Wenzel, the Charles A. Dana Professor of Chemistry at Bates College and recipient of more than $2.8 million in research and educational grants. Throughout his career, he has been active in efforts to promote research at undergraduate institutions.
