Tuesday, April 8 is EQUAL PAY DAY, the symbolic day when women's earnings finally catch up to men's earnings from the previous year. As a result of the gender pay gap, it takes women an extra three months of wages to make up that 23-percent difference.   The Career Development Center is hosting an awareness table in the MSU lobby from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. to educate women and men on the wage disparity...stop by!

Dr. Soo Goh will perform a clarinet recital on Thursday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Georgian Room of Old Main.  The program will include "Pastoral" by Arthur Bliss, "Sonata for Clarinet and Piano" by Arnold Bax, "Sulamit Ran - For an Actor:  Monologue for Clarinet" and Gustav Jenner's "Sonata in G Major for Clarinet and Piano."  The concert is free and open to the public. 


Dr. Lynn M. Kutch, associate professor of German Studies, was elected to the board of directors of the Northeast Modern Language Association (NeMLA) as German Area Director.  The appointment was announced April 6 at the NeMLA convention in Harrisburg. The Northeast Modern Language Association (NeMLA) is a scholarly organization for professionals in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and other modern languages. Most members are professors and students at colleges and universities from New England, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and eastern Canada. (


The Academic Coaches are offering Take It Easy: Managing Test Anxiety, today in MSU 223 at 11 a.m.  Please encourage your students to attend this engaging workshop.

The following Geography students will be attending the  Association of American Geographers Annual Meeting  in Tampa, FL from  April 8 - 13. Please excuse: Aaron Brouse, Caitlin Del Roccili and Sarah Radigan Lander along with Ben Kosek of Electronic Media/Meteorology.  Aaron, Caitlin and Ben were each awarded the full research grant from the Undergraduate Research Committee and will be presenting their research at the conference.  Although attendance at the conference requires their absence from your class, the students understand that it is their responsibility to make up any assignments or exams that they may miss at your convenience.

  • At-Large Senator (professional staff/managers and/or faculty with three + years of service);
  • Professional Staff Senator (professional staff/managers with three + years of service);
  • Tenured or tenure track faculty representative to the Committee on Committees (VPA);
  • Professional staff member for Committee on Committees
  • Tenured or tenure track faculty representative to the Grade Appeal Board (COE and Graduate);
  • Representatives for Strategic Planning and Resources Committee (VPA and Graduate)
