The Philosophy Department is pleased to announce the second annual "Philosopher's Day" on Wednesday, April 9.  This year's presenter is Lloyd Gerson, Ph.D., professor of philosophy at the University of Toronto and an expert on ancient philosophy, especially the thought of Plotinus.  He has published numerous works in his field, including Aristotle and Other Platonists, Plotinus, and Ancient Epistemology.  Dr. Gerson will present a public lecture, "Platonism vs. Naturalism," in AF 103 at 4:30 p.m.  We invite all students, faculty, and staff to join us.

Kutztown University's College of Visual and Performing Arts is pleased to offer the first and only Master of Fine Arts in Communication Design within the PASSHE system. Enrollment will begin Fall 2014. Students will explore their personal and professional design aspirations and expand their skill set through the 64-credit program. The Kutztown MFA features a focused thesis project that spans three courses dedicated to research, creativity, and implementation. The Kutztown University Department of Communication Studies and Theatre will present "Lizards" by Megan Mostyn-Brown April 16, 17, 18, 24 and 25 at 8 p.m.  A matinee performance will be performed on April 26 at 2 p.m.  All performances take place in the Rickenbach Learning Center Theatre.  The production is directed by Professor Roxane Rix.  How does someone find love and meaning in the new millenium? "Lizards" follows a group of friends in their twenties helping each other make the leap into adulthood in a difficult world, as they summon the courage to heal the past, confront their fears, and make the changes that they hope will lead to a brighter future. Tickets are $10 for students purchased in advance and $15 for the general public or purchased at the door. Please encourage students to apply for the PSECU Student Scholarship.  Applications are due Friday, April 18 to the PSECU eCenter, MSU room 280. PSECU will award $15,000.00 in scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students for Fall 2014. Previous recipients of the scholarship are eligible to apply.  Students can pick up the applications at their Dean's office or the PSECU office.
