Congratulations to communication design student, Bryn O'Reilly '17, who won the 2014 Homecoming logo design contest.  This year's Homecoming theme centers around the decade of the 90s. Bryn's winning design will be featured on 2014 promotional materials and publications.  Thanks to all the students who submitted entries.  We are looking forward to seeing students, alumni, faculty and staff at many of our exciting 2014 Homecoming activities on Oct. 18, 2014!

Happy Administrative Professionals Day!  Many thanks to all of the administrative professionals who make KU run smoothly. 

  


  

The 8th Annual Race Against Racism will be held this Saturday, April 26. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Berks County. Race begins at 9 a.m. If interested in running or walking in the race, pick up a registration card at the front desk of any residence hall, MSU information desk, the Rec Center, the Housing Office, or any of the registration tables this week. Bearfest 36 and the KU Residence Hall Association will host a Blood Drive with Miller-Keystone Blood Bank on Friday, April 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Schedule a time to donate here.

 


 

Congratulations to Samantha Shultz and Heather Urban who have been named the recipients of the 2014 Criminal Justice Department Academic Excellence and Community Service Award.  The award is granted each year to two graduating seniors who have distinguished themselves academically, while making important contributions to the department, university and community.

It's not too late to get your plot at the Kutztown University Community Garden, located at the Pa. German Cultural Heritage Center (PGCHC).  The lots are 10' X 30' and cost $50 per plot.  Special prices are available for KU students.  Garden season runs April 26 - Oct. 31.   There are a limited number of plots available and it is first come, first served.  For more information, or to reserve a plot, contact the PGCHC at heritage@kutztown.edu or 610-683-1589.
