In celebration of National Poetry Month, the KU English Club has organized a reading and Master Class with award winning Philadelphia poet, David Livewell.  Livewell is an emerging voice in American letters from the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia.  His poetry reflects how the city has molded him as an individual, as well as a writer, and vividly captures the Philly identity.  His book, Shackamaxon, won the T.S. Eliot award in 2012.  He has also appeared in prestigious journals such as the Yale Review, The Sewanee Review, Threepenny, and The New Criterion. The reading is scheduled for 7p.m., Thursday April 3, in the Georgian Room of Old Main.  Livewell will be happy to sign books afterward.

In addition, Livewell will hold an informal Q&A about poetry and writing from 10-11 a.m. the following morning in the President's Room of McFarland Student Union (250). All are welcome to come learn from this terrific writer about finding your voice and getting it heard.
