Major: Biology, Class of 2011Lindsay Confer, a KU graduate who majored in biology/pre-professional studies, set her sights on attending medical school for dermatology after graduation. In addition to her ambitious scholastic goals, Confer was a member of KU's women's volleyball team, which is an activity she will remember fondly when looking back on her KU experience.
"As a member of the volleyball team, we went to regionals and beat Shippensburg at California University of Pennsylvania," Confer said. "We beat them in five games and were able to move on to play against California. Shippensburg is one of our biggest rivals, so it was a huge win for us."
Confer feels confident that KU has prepared her for medical school because of the one-on-one time with professors. She also enjoyed adequate lab time to perform experiments, something that Confer will have to her advantage once she enters medical school.
To students considering attending KU, Confer says, "The layout of the campus is really convenient. It's a good size, and all of your teachers know you. Everyone here is willing to help you and everyone is so pleasant. If someone was considering KU, I would definitely encourage them to come here."
