Live@EDU upgrade to Office365

Update 10/4/13
Office 365 Updgrade Phase 3:

Phase 3 upgrade begins Oct. 14

After this migration has completed your account will have:

  • Updated Interface
  • Access to Microsoft Sharepoint and Office Web Apps
  • Mailbox quota increase from 10GB to 50GB

The migration will begin Oct 14 and could take up to three days to complete, however there should be little service disruption during this period. You may be asked to sign out and sign in again after your mailbox has been moved.

For best service with Outlook Web Access use the most up to date version of your browser.

Mobile Devices: Important! - Depending on the device, you may not lose service; however to ensure best ongoing connectivity, please update the server field in your settings to: outlook.office365.com

SkyDrive - Missing data stored on SkyDrive after the migration? SkyDrive has been split off from Office365 and replaced with a newer version. This separate account can be accessed at https://skydrive.live.com. The username and password used to access SkyDrive will initially be the same; however the account is completely separate. This means that when your KU password is changed, the SkyDrive password will not change automatically.

Important information for all students; SkyDrive users should take action to ensure smooth transition

Microsoft upgraded KU student email accounts to its Office365 system on July 14, 2013.  Only users who utilize the SkyDrive feature will have to take immediate action to ensure their information is maintained/migrated successfully. If you do not use the SkyDrive, then you need not take any action, except to note the following new features:

What's Changing

  • Updated Interface
  • Access to Microsoft Sharepoint
  • Access to Microsoft Office Web
  • Mailbox quota increase from 10 GB to 25 GB

SkyDrive

  • SkyDrive and any data stored therein will be split off into a separate account.  This separate account can be accessed at https://skydrive.live.com. The username and password used to access SkyDrive will be the same initially, however the account is completely separate. This means that when your KU password is changed, the SkyDrive password will not change automatically.
  • Files stored in SkyDrive will not be migrated automatically. However you can be move them over to Office365. To move files to Office365 SkyDrive, it is recommended that all of the SkyDrive content be downloaded locally and then uploaded to SkyDrive Pro in the KU Office365 account.
