Athletics & Recreation
Athletics and fitness are an integral part of Kutztown University life. The following are avenues in which students may become active or participate in campus sports.
The intercollegiate athletic program features 21 varsity sports. The teams compete at the NCAA Division II level and are regionally and nationally competitive. Be a part of the action and cheer the Golden Bears on to victory - students are admitted free to all regular-season home events.
Men's sports include:
- Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Tennis, Indoor Track & Field, Outdoor Track & Field, and Wrestling.
Women's sports include:
Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Golf, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Indoor Track & Field, Outdoor Track & Field, and Volleyball.
The Student Recreation Center, or Rec Center, is the place to be for student recreation and fitness on campus. Among the amenities are a nearly 9,000-square-foot fitness center and weight room, two group fitness studios, a synthetic surface gymnasium with curved walls for indoor sports, a synthetic surface half-gymnasium and a suspended 1/10 mile jogging track.
Grab your climbing gear to scale the indoor rock climbing wall, or you can challenge a friend to a game on one of two racquetball courts.
For those who would also like to participate in recreational sports and activities, you've come to the right place. Recreational Services at KU aim to enhance academic success, personal and social development, and the health and wellness of the university community as a whole.
Intramural sports include: Flag football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, softball, tennis, racquetball, table tennis, billiards and wallyball.
With a focus on safety, the department will provide the Kutztown University community with high quality fitness facilities, equipment and programs designed to develop students who are committed to health and wellness throughout their lives.
