SUMMER SCHEDULE!

We here at KUR find it amusing that so many college stations grow dormant during the summer. What kind of community service is that? Not here at KUR. The music keeps playing, the news keeps running, the talk programming keeps informing you, and the announcements keep you abreast of what's going on in your community. Keep KUR on all summer long, 24/7, and check out the "Schedule" link on the left side of this page for our official summer schedule of programming!

INTERESTED IN JOINING KUR?

If you're a student, staff, or faculty of KU, you are eligible to join the organization voted "Best Student Organization" in 2013. Just send an email to kur@kutztown.edu expressing your interest, and we'll get back to you with information. If you don't hear back within a few days, please call us at 610-683-4059, as your email may have been sent to our spam box. And yes, we DO check our messages ALL summer unlike other college radio stations. Also, join the "Kutztown University Radio" page on KUnited. Log in with your credentials, look for "Kutztown University Radio (KUR)" and join. Doing this will put you on our mailing list for information as we get closer to the new fall semester.

KUR LISTENS TO YOU!

You've proven to us that you love the music we play on KUR when student specialty shows are not on-the-air, but KUR listens to suggestions & assessments. You've implied you want more fun, upbeat classics on-the-air during the day, so we LISTEN! Welcome back to "Cafe KUR," fun tunes from the 70s and 80s along with a dash of the 60s and today. For you jazz fans, you can still get your jazz fix every night from 10 p.m to 7 a.m! And stay tuned for summer student specialty shows airing at select times throughout the day! Check out the "Schedule" link on the left side of this page for more information!

KUR PODCASTS SOME OF OUR BEST PROGRAMMING!

KUR realizes that in this day and age, folks listen to podcasts almost as much as live "broadcasts." As such, KUR now has a YouTube account where we podcast some of our latest and greatest broadcasts/interviews/features. You can access KUR's "YouTube" channel by clicking on the "Podcasts" link in the upper left of this page.

KUR WINS GOLD ... AGAIN!

Kutztown University Radio has brought home the gold for the 2nd year in a row at the prestigious Intercollegiate Broadcast Society (IBS) Trophy Awards. On Saturday, March 8th, KUR won "Best Use of Social Media!"

KUR has become mildly famous in the past few years for our aggressive social media postings, posting at least 5 to 10 updates per day namely on Facebook and Twitter, ranging from News Alerts (local weather, accidents, closures, stories, etc.), promotional updates on our radio programming, and topics of timely and informative nature to the public including science, sports, and fun news. It's all a part of our realization that operating a media outlet like KUR means not solely focusing on one aspect of it (the radio broadcast itself) but the many other venues any good media outlet must utilize like social media.

All of this has been noticed by the judges and was enough to send us home with the GOLD! Congratulations to the Social Media Team of KUR, Matt Cech, Mitch Lambert, Nicole Zensky, Ryan C Moore, and advisor Mike Regensburger and everyone else at KUR and congratulations to EVERYONE at KUR for making us a finalist for "Best Radio Station at a college of under 10,000 enrollment" and "Best Promotional Event" for last year's Battle of the Bands, in addition to being recognized by IBS for "excellence in college broadcasting."
