College of Business Scholarships
Note: Criteria for each scholarship are determined by donors and recipients are chosen by each department.
Andrew W. Koch, M.D. '47 and M. Jane (Grill) Koch '49 Scholarship
*College of Business major. Established by Dr. Andrew '47 and Mrs. Mary Jane '49 Koch to provide a scholarship to a worthy freshman who is full-time and majoring in a College of Business discipline, and who has demonstrated exceptional academic performance and community involvement.
J. Mark Piscitelli Memorial Scholarship
*60 or more credits, any College of Business major. Established in loving memory of J. Mark Piscitelli '93 by his parents Dr. Joseph and Diane Piscitelli, family, and friends to provide scholarship assistance to a Kutztown University business major studying at Buckinghamshire College.
Floyd O. Rowe Scholarship
*Student with a commitment to community service. Established by Russell '65 and Beverly Hinnershitz in memory of his business partner, Floyd O. Rowe, to provide financial assistance to a highly motivated College of Business student who has a demonstrated record of commitment to community service.
N. Wayne and Mary M. St. John Graduate Student Endowment Fund
*Graduate assistant involved with the Small Business Development Center. Established by Dr. Mary (emerita professor of geography and former dean of Academic Services) and Mr. N. Wayne St. John to provide annual assistance to a full-time graduate student in the College of Business to provide teaching assistance in its outreach programs to small businesses.
Accounting Club Scholarship
*Accounting major with at least 60 credits. Established through the proceeds of Accounting Club activities and continuing education courses, as well as faculty and alumni donations, to recognize accounting majors who have demonstrated excellence in the classroom and leadership skills on campus.
Robert Weiss Taxation Scholarship
*At least 60 credits; accounting major. Established in memory of Robert Weiss, taxation specialist on the accounting faculty, through the proceeds of Accounting Club activities and continuing education courses, as well as donations from family, colleagues, and friends. Recognizes accounting majors who have expressed an interest or demonstrated excellence in the specialty of taxation accounting.
Margaret B. White Scholarship
*Undergraduate accounting major; at least a 3.2 GPA. Established by Mark (professor of accounting) and Nancy Dinger in memory of Margaret B. White, a friend of his mother, to provide scholarship assistance to a worthy undergraduate accounting major.
Excellence in Cost Accounting Scholarship
*Excellent performance in cost accounting courses Acct 305 and 306. Given annually since 1998 by Thomas J. Grant (chairperson and associate professor of accounting and general business) to reward a student or students who have performed well academically in Accounting 305 and/or Accounting 306.
Diefenderfer Family Scholarship
*3.5 GPA; sibling or legacy; ginance major. Established by Minnie Diefenderfer '21 in honor of herself, Paul Diefenderfer (husband), and Anna Diefenderfer (sibling) to recognize outstanding academic achievement in the College of Business, particularly the area of finance. The student must be in good academic standing with preference given to students who have a sibling or parent who attended or is a graduate of Kutztown University.
*Established to provide four-year merit scholarships for incoming freshman by the Kutztown University Foundation Board of Directors from proceeds of the annual President's Scholarship Ball.
The Leisure and Sports Studies Scholarship
Scholarship provides assistance to an ethical, full-time sport management major with financial need.
