KU Scholarships

Kutztown University offers scholarships for students in the following categories:

Note: Criteria for each scholarship are determined by donors and recipients are chosen by each department.

FAFSA 500 - awarded to first time freshman, whose processed FAFSA has been received by Kutztown University prior to March 1st (non-renewable, one year award)

Criteria for Eligibility

  • Students must have a processed complete FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) before March 1.
  • Be a first time freshman
  • Have in-state residency

Golden Bear Scholarships

To be eligible for :

  • Maroon - Must have 1000 SAT CR/M or 21 ACT Composite score and show need; eligible for $1000
  • Gold - 1100 SAT CR/M or 23 ACT Composite score and show need; eligible for $1500
  • Platinum - 1000 SAT CR/M or 21 ACT Composite score, must be PELL eligible and show need.  Award amount based on total cost (tuition and fees) minus PELL and/or PHEAA grant eligibility. 

Award amounts will vary and subject to change as student's eligibility changes.

Kutztown University is proud to offer the following scholarships. These scholarships will be automatically awarded to students who qualify.

  • The Sesquicentennial Academic Honors Scholarship will be awarded to high school seniors who have a 3.25 cumulative weighted high school GPA and a 1350 combined score on the critical reading and math sections of the SAT or 30 composite on the ACT. The student will receive $7,000 per year for four years as long as he or she participates in the Honors program, lives on campus for the first three years, and completes a minimum of 30 credits per year.
  • The President's Academic Honors Scholarship will be awarded to high school seniors who have a 3.25 cumulative weighted high school GPA and a 1200 combined score on the critical reading and math sections of the SAT or 26 composite on the ACT. The student will receive $1,000 per year for four years as long as he or she participates in the Honors program, lives on campus for the first two years, and completes a minimum of 30 credits per year.
  • The Transfer Book Award will be awarded to all first-time transfer students who enter Kutztown University with any type of Associate's degree. This is a one-time book award of $500 for one academic year (Fall or Spring only) to be utilized in the KU Campus Book Store.
