Known throughout the United States and Europe as a performer and educator, conductor and violinist Timothy Schwarz has been praised for his "energetic performances" (Rome News), and "technique beyond reproach" (Buffalo Times). He has performed solo recitals and concertos in most major cities in the United States as well as Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. Awards include Gold Medal in the Artistic Ambassador Competition and "Best Artist in Maryland" award by the National Endowment for the Arts.

Schwarz has recorded solo and chamber music CD's for Naxos, EMI, Marquis Classics, and Centaur Records. His 2013 Naxos CD features early chamber works by Grammy Award winner Jennifer Higdon. The American Record Guide praised his 2006 solo CD as "good enough to be the only recording in your collection if you just want one".

An avid educator, Schwarz is director and founder of Techne Music, which includes a summer chamber music camp and concert series. His students have won national competitions and have been accepted into the nations leading conservatories. Dr. Schwarz is currently orchestra director at Kutztown University and the Wilmington Community Orchestra, and served as head of the string department at Lehigh University from 2007-2013.
