Dr. Diana Ebersole

Diana EbersoleDiana Ebersole holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism and a master's degree in Communication Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. She earned her Ph.D. in Communication Arts and Sciences from Penn State University in 2012.  Dr. Ebersole's areas of teaching and research are interpersonal and family communication with emphases on individual and relational health and well-being, privacy and deception, and substance abuse prevention.  She has been published in Communication Monographs and the Journal of Family Communication and has co-authored book chapters on communication at midlife and family communication.  Dr. Ebersole has presented her research at numerous national and international communication, prevention, and relational conferences.  

Her teaching includes courses in Interpersonal Communication, Family Communication, Nonverbal Communication, Gender, Senior Capstone, Small Group Communication, Fundamentals of Oral Communication, Communication Research Methods, and Lying and Deception.  Beginning Fall 2015, she will teach an upper level Relational Communication course. 

Dr. Ebersole is on the board of directors for Women's and Gender Studies and the Kutztown University Committee for Research.  She is also a member of the PASSHE Consortium of Women Faculty and the academic advisor for the Greek organization, Theta Phi Alpha.

In her free time, Dr. Ebersole, enjoys spending time with her husband, is a long-distance runner, avid reader, and novice knitter.  She also enjoys traveling and visits family and friends in Florida, Texas, and the Outer Banks of North Carolina as much as possible.
