Dean's Welcome
Welcome to the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Kutztown University! We are committed to preparing creative students for the diverse global environment. Dedicated faculty challenge students to strive for excellence and develop their individual voice. Graduates are skilled practitioners who blend critical thinking skills with historical perspectives to make an impact in their chosen vocation.
The Sharadin Art Building provides world-class studio and teaching spaces for the visual arts. Currently under renovation, Schaeffer Hall will feature state-of-the-art facilities for the performing arts, starting in 2013.
Visual Arts programs are fully accredited by NASAD, the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. Music programs are fully accredited by NASM, the National Association of Schools of Music.

Faculty Highlights
Communication Studies Professor Dr. Andrea Mitnick was granted her second Fulbright Award. In spring 2014, she will present lectures on interpersonal communication, leadership and American media to both students and faculty at the Budapest College of Communication, Business and the Arts.
Student Highlights
The KU Wind Ensemble performed an evening concert at the Kennedy Center as a featured university ensemble for the Washington DC International Music Festival on April 22, 2013.
