Fall 2014 Orchestra and University Band* Audition Information
* Auditions for University Band are used to determine part assignments.  Everyone interested in participating in University Band is welcomed.


Strings Audition:

  • Tue, Aug 26, 2014; 4:30-6PM at Schaeffer 114.


Winds/Percussion Audition:  Note that winds and percussion audition music is the same for all ensembles:

Signup Instructions:
 

  • Please see Ms. Fran Melchionne at the Music Office (610-683-4550) to sign up for an audition time.
  • Pick a time-slot that is next to your instrument.  For example, if you are a flutist, sign up next to another flutist (when possible).

Strings - please prepare the following repertoire  and bring your own copy of the audition music.  Email Dr. Tim Schwarz if you have questions.

  • Violin I - Smetana: ms. 185-235; Tchaikovsky: mvt. 1, ms. 127-162
    * If you want to be considered for a principal position, also learn Tchaikovsky: last movement, ms. 540-565

Audition repertoire consist of the following pieces.  Please go to the IMSLP link and download your parts.  Additional required audition repertoire will be linked directly on the individual instrumental listing.
