Dr. Diana Ebersole
Diana Ebersole holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and a master's degree in communication studies from University of Texas at Austin. She earned her Ph.D. in communication arts and sciences from Penn State University. Her dissertation is entitled There is no manual to this mess: Parent-adolescent communication patterns, privacy management, and talks about substance use and it involved in-depth, individual interviews with parents and one of their adolescent children in 40 families.
Diana studies interpersonal and family communication with emphases on individual and relational health and well-being, privacy and deception, and substance abuse prevention. She has been published in Communication Monographs and the Journal of Family Communication, and has presented her research at numerous national and international communication and prevention conferences. Courses that Diana has taught include Fundamentals of Oral Communication, Gender, Nonverbal Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Communication Research Methods, Effective Group Discussion, and Lying and Deception.
