Dr. Pamela Royse

Dr. Pamela Royse began her academic career at the University of Toledo, where she earned a B.A. in Journalism. As an undergraduate student, she was Editor-in-Chief of the campus newspaper, The Collegian. She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Communication Studies at Ohio University. Her academic interests are in rhetoric and culture, and her dissertation examines the rhetorical response to the lynching of Emmett Till.

At Kutztown University, Dr. Royse has taught Fundamentals of Oral Communication, Communication Theory, Family Communication, Interviewing: Communication Principles, and Rhetorical Theory and Criticism.

Dr. Royse is originally from Ohio--and for those who are curious about her pronounciation of certain words, it is the SOUTHERN Ohio accent.

Outside the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her friends, as well as visits with her family in Ohio whenever time permits. She recently adopted a new dog—Pippi Long-body—a Bassett Hound and Jack Russell mix.
