Master of Education in Secondary Education

The Department of Secondary Education offers a Masters of Education in Curriculum & Instruction (can be completed fully online) and six concentration areas in the Masters of Education in Secondary Education:

  • Biology
  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Middle Level
  • Social Studies
  • Teaching

New regulations by PDE require that Instructional II certificates add Standard Aligned System (SAS) and Accommodations to our graduate programs. The Secondary Education M.Ed. programs have been revised to identify and include courses that meet these new PDE regulations.

For a suggested timeline of classes, please see the Graduate Course Rotation schedule.

A portfolio is required in each of the M.Ed. programs offered by the Department of Secondary Education (excluding the M.Ed. in Teaching program) prior to graduation.  Please visit the Graduation page for all graduation requirements.

The Masters in Education with a specialization in Teaching requires all students to update their clearances and submit their resume prior to their student teaching semester.  Click the link for a complete listing of accepted clearances.  A portfolio is required as a capstone project for the program.
