From September 13-16, 2015, the Council for Accreditation of Counseling-Related Educational Programs (CACREP) conducted a comprehensive review of Department of Counseling & Student Affairs' master's degree programs in: Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling; Clinical Mental Health Counseling; and School Counseling. CACREP team members, Drs. Joshua Gold, Todd M. Frye, and Anita Young examined evidence of multiple standards within each of the specialty programs; 72 areas of the learning environment; 70 areas of professional identity; and 28 professional practice standards. The team reviewed program policies, procedures and files; visited sites; and met with current students, alumni, site supervisors, program faculty, support staff and administrators. Thank you to everyone involved, for your support and time given to advancing Kutztown University's counseling programs. The CACREP board is set to meet January 14-16, and we expect to hear back after that.
