B.S. in Leisure and Sport Studies

LEISURE & SPORT STUDIES

Welcome to the exciting world of sport and leisure! Our program is designed to prepare students for administrative and operations positions within the sport, athletics, recreation, and fitness industries. All students will receive a Bachelor of Science in Leisure and Sport Studies degree with career options that include positions with professional teams, college and high school athletic departments, athletic facilities, sport products, sport events, and sport tourism. 

The Leisure and Sport Studies degree program at Kutztown University offers a choice of two specializations:

Coaching & Athletic Administration
Professional positions include athletic director, sports information director, compliance coordinator, recruiting coordinator, coach, conference administrator, promotions director, equipment manager, and intramural/recreation director.

Health Promotion/Fitness Administration
Professional opportunities include employment positions as a health club manager, fitness director, personal trainer, or strength/conditioning coach.

Program Requirements

The Leisure and Sport Studies Program at Kutztown University is a 120-credit major. Leisure and Sport Studies majors complete 60 semester hours of general education courses and 60 semester hours of Leisure and Sport Studies courses. Upon successful completion of the Leisure and Sport Studies program, students graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree.
