Professor Kerri Cebula

Professor Cebula earned her Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Justice from American University. After graduation, she went to work in the Compliance Office in the Villanova University Athletics Department. A major investigation by the NCAA prompted her to go to law school. She earned her Juris Doctor from Marquette University Law School and the Certificate in Sports Law from the National Sports Law Institute of Marquette University Law School. While at MULS, she was a member of the Marquette Sports Law Review and served as a research assistant to Professor Paul Anderson, Associate Director of the NSLI. She also served as a legal intern with the Wisconsin State Fair Park, where she tried to figure out who owned the railroad tracks that run through the park, and the Pettit National Ice Center, where she wrote liability waivers for Cream Puff Curling. After graduation, she returned to college athletics, serving various roles in the Compliance Office at the University of Delaware until she came to Kutztown. Professor Cebula prefers to be called "Professor" because she is afraid of her Ethics professor from law school.
An interesting fact about Professor Cebula is that she chose which law schools to apply to by looking at the Villanova's Men's Basketball schedule for 2002-2003 season. Marquette and Villanova happened to play in the Coaches vs. Cancer tournament that season (this was before they were both in the Big East). She does not recommend that anyone else do this.
