Dr. Lottes' graduate work was in Sport Psychology, Sport Sociology and Counseling Psychology. In her Master's Thesis she studied the factors that influence female athletes to select non-scholarship Christian Colleges. This led to a model that coaches can use in recruiting. In her Doctoral Dissertation, Dr. Lottes focused on support of athletes once they were enrolled in college. This led to a Holistic model of counseling student-athletes on academic, athletic and personal/social issues. At K.U., Dr. Lottes enjoys teaching Sport Behavior (Psychology), Sport and Society (Sociology) and Sport Ethics. She also volunteers as a consultant with athletic coaches and their athletes, and writes in this area for practitioners in the athletic field. Dr. Lottes enjoys outdoor activities including kayaking and cross-country skiing.
