Dr. Duane Crider

Dr. Crider has been working in higher education for over 35 years. He came to Kutztown University following a 17 year career at The Pennsylvania State University. His administrative responsibilities have included those of Coordinator of Athletic Operations, Athletic Trainer, Director of Recreational Sports, and Athletic Director. He is experienced in teaching a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate level courses in the Administrative, Sport, Fitness, Recreation and Leisure fields of study.
His research has resulted in publications and presentations at the international, national, regional, state, and local levels. He is an associate editor for the "Applied Recreational Research and Programming Annual" journal and an editorial review board member on the "Applied Research in Coaching and Athletics Annual" journal. He has been involved in the martial arts for over 25 years he has authored two related books; Stretch Your Mind and Body; Tai Chi as an Adaptive Activity and Tai Chi; In the Classroom and Beyond. His work at the university level has included his service as chair of the University Academic Technology Committee and his continued work as chair to both the University Safety and Security Council and the University Tenure Committee. He is the Coordinator of the Kutztown University Entrepreneurial Leadership Center (ELC) and he has worked with and provided advisement for numerous student clubs and organizations such as the Strength and Fitness Club and the Tai Chi Club.
