Motor Vehicle Registration

STUDENTS:

Students must pay to register vehicles online by accessing their myKU account and paying the registration fee with a credit card or e-check. Payments by cash or check are accepted by the Bursar's Office. The cost of a one-semester only permit is $30 and an annual (academic year) permit is $50.

Students may register more than one vehicle under this fee. However, only one may be registered online. When retrieving the permanent permit from Public Safety, students should bring the necessary documentation (see below) for all vehicles they wish to register.

Permanent permits can be retrieved from the Public Safety & Police Services administrative office located in Old Main 13, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. All students must bring a valid state-issued driver's license and valid vehicle registration to Public Safety to secure their parking decal.

FACULTY AND STAFF:

Staff and faculty must bring a valid state-issued driver's license and valid vehicle registration to Public Safety to secure their free parking permit. Multiple vehicles may be registered free of charge.

CAMPUS VISITORS/GUESTS:

All vehicles that enter campus must have a parking placard displayed in order to park on campus. Visitor permits may be picked up from Public Safety and Police Services (Old Main 13) Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. After hours, visitor permits may be picked up in the Public Safety Communications Center located in the basement of Old Main. This Center is open 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

Campus departments may issue passes to guests/visitors by contacting Public Safety and requesting Visitor passes.
